Jurnal Laboratorium Khatulistiwa (JLK)
Jurnal Laboratorium Khatulistiwa (JLK) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality, integrity, and transparency. All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a rigorous and systematic double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the evaluation.
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to assess its suitability in terms of scope, formatting, and ethical compliance. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements will be rejected at this stage (desk rejection). Only manuscripts that fulfill the initial criteria will proceed to the peer review process.
Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. The double-blind review process ensures an objective and unbiased evaluation.
Reviewers assess the manuscript based on several key aspects, including:
- Scientific quality and originality
- Methodological rigor
- Clarity of presentation
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the editor makes a decision regarding the manuscript. The possible decisions include:
- Accept Submission
- Minor Revision Required
- Major Revision Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Decline Submission
The Editor-in-Chief holds the final authority in determining whether a manuscript is accepted for publication.
Review Workflow
The peer review process in JLK follows a structured workflow:
- Submission – The author submits the manuscript through the journal system.
- Editorial Assignment – The manuscript is assigned to an editor.
- Initial Screening – The editor evaluates the manuscript for suitability.
- Peer Review – The manuscript is reviewed by independent reviewers.
- Revision – Authors revise the manuscript based on reviewers’ feedback.
- Evaluation – The revised manuscript is reassessed by the editor (and reviewers if necessary).
- Final Decision – The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
- Publication – Accepted manuscripts proceed to production and publication.
Important Notes
- Most manuscripts will undergo at least one round of revision prior to acceptance.
- Submission of revisions does not guarantee acceptance.
- Manuscripts will be automatically rejected if authors fail to respond within three months.
